Educators are calling for more Psycho-Social support for students. The wave of school violence erupting in recent weeks remains concerning and has led to more calls for intervention in the nation’s schools. One educator is of the view the COVID-19 pandemic is directly linked to the students’ behaviour.
Leighton Campbell Principal of the Muschett High School in Trelawny says the wave of school violence is a result of students being home for two years and lacking parental guidance.
He notes many have become influenced by the crime-filled society. CVM LIVE’s Education Contributor Dr. Canute Thompson indicates more psycho-social support is needed outside of the classrooms.
