The curfew imposed in Effortville, Clarendon ended on New Year’s Day but the police say they will continue to maintain a visible presence in and around the community to reduce tension.
Superintendent of Police, Christopher Phillips is in charge of operations in the parish. He says the police are trying to reconnect with the Effortville community and to reassure the community members.
In the meantime, Javier Collins was charged by the Clarendon Police with two counts of murder and shooting with intent in the community some two weeks ago. Three people were killed on the night.
Meanwhile, there is an ongoing conflict in the Haylesfield and Coffals, Race Course areas of South Clarendon.
Additionally, the police have listed two men as persons of interest in relation to the killings.
