Edward Morris can now lay his head in peace and comfort after he received a home through the government’s Social Housing Programme.
Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie handed over the much-needed studio dwelling this month.
An acceptable roof over and a home furnished to his needs at the age of seventy-nine; that is the story of Edwards Morris from Chambers Pen, Hanover who was gifted a studio unit earlier this month. Desmond McKenzie, minister of local government in his key address at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Noted Morris is reaping the benefits of his contributions to the development of the country and more will be done in the community. The Minister says he has seen several unacceptable cases of taxpayers living in deplorable conditions, which the social housing program is deemed to fix. Recounting his humble experience at an infirmary he says these projects are heartfelt and charged the community to care for its elders. Watch the report:
