An elderly woman of Red Hills road has died at home after being refused care at the University Hospital of the West Indies because of an alleged lack of resources. CVM Live was asked to withhold the story until the funeral proceedings were finalized because of fear of being sabotaged.
Princess Findley, daughter of the deceased said after her mother was tested negative for the COVID-19, she was discharged despite having a fever and epilepsy episodes, which are common to her.
Findley alleged that there were no beds at the University Hospital of the West Indies to accommodate her mother.
Deceased 84-year-old Ruby Findley who was a nurse at the hospital in the 60’s spent the last of her days at home gasping for air.
During the interview, the undertakers came to remove the elder’s body. Findley says she is not seeking a lawsuit but to bring awareness to the health care issues.
