EOJ Begins ID Card Renewal and Distribution

Starting Monday, October 11, the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) will be distributing its newly designed national identification cards. The Director of Elections, Glasspole Brown is urging Jamaicans whose national identification cards have expired to visit their related electoral offices to renew them.

The new cards will replace ID cards scheduled to expire on December 31, 2021. Brown, explains how the process has been impacted by the pandemic. Electors renewing their ID cards are reminded to carry their current voter id card, along with the receipt received when collecting the new card.

However, the EOJ says those who cannot locate either will not be turned away. Persons are also reminded to wear a mask and exercise patience when they arrive to collect their IDs.
