The Economic Programme Oversight Committee (EPOC) is hopeful public sector workers who are yet to sign will complete the process in the coming days. EPOC’s Chairman Keith Duncan says the Jamaican economy is in a position where the tax revenue is sufficient to pay an increase in compensation to public sector workers.
Following Minister of Finance & Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke’s appeal to public sector workers who are yet to accept the government’s compensation offer several groups have heeded the call with the exception of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). The EPOC says they anticipate other groups signing the agreement soon. Watch the report:
