Economic Programme Oversight Committee, (EPOC) Chairman, Keith Duncan says while he is in favor of vaccination, efforts should be ramped up in order to achieve herd immunity. He notes full accessibility and education regarding the vaccines are the key.
While vaccine hesitancy exits among Jamaicans, the EPOC Chairman sought to highlight that measures were put in place ramp up vaccinations and provide more education in the public domain. He notes he is looking forward to working with the Government.
Duncan notes that as vaccines approach their expiration dates, efforts need to be heightened. He further explains that marginal vaccination uptake may not have a major impact on the economy. He notes that interest rates are at a all time low currently in Jamaica, he however notes that he does not think it will have a huge impact on consumption, but noted that a marginalization might be evident.
