Family Demands Compassion and Answers From Pastor

As the pain of losing his mother intensified, Don Woodstock traveled to Jamaica from his new home in Canada to bid her sweet rest. He says his only wish after meeting with the pastor of the Baptist church that his mother attended for more than 40 years, was to not have the funeral service live-streamed. A simple request he felt but one that rendered his mother’s farewell near chaos, as the pastor did not show nor did several key personnel.

He admits that there were other concerns he would hoped to address beyond the suspected boycott, to include what he claims was the mystery of his mother’s nearly 40-year contribution to an internment fund at the same church. While he is considering legal action to get the answers he needs from the pastor, he is reminding the church community that it is crucial to exercise compassion and sympathy for families, especially in times of loss.  Several calls placed to the accused pastor’s phone Thursday went unanswered.
