The relatives of an electrocuted man will be filing a lawsuit against PriceSmart and the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Company. This follows a deadly unexpected twist on March 13 when an expectant father was electrocuted after carrying out work at the PriceSmart building on Red Hills Road, St Andrew.
After a battle fought for days, 19-year-old Jevaughn Smith succumbed to third-degree burns leaving his family in despair. Lateisha Campbell is among other relatives lamenting after she was made aware her cousin Jevaughn Smith was admitted at the Kingston Public Hospital after being electrocuted by power lines while working at PriceSmart.
Campbell says she was also barred from PriceSmart where she attempted to take photos of where the incident occurred the same day, but was told it was against company policy. While the pain lingers the family is left distraught as they seek answers. During a recent interview with CVM LIVE attorney-at-law representing the family Tamara Francis Riley-Dunn says the family is left hopeless as their calls have become unanswered by both companies.
