The family of two men killed almost 2 weeks ago during an alleged confrontation with the police in Central Village, St. Catherine is professing the men’s innocence. Among the deceased was a 16-year-old student
The police said 21-year-old Romario ‘Mari’ Brewster and his 16-year-old cousin Deandre ‘Little D’ Channer were both high ranking members of the top burgher gully gang and suspects in the February 16 murder of a man in East Kingston.
But Romario’s mother and grandmother strongly deny their word and argue that their loved ones were murdered in cold blood on March 9. Romario was the first of two sons for his mother.
Head of the Area 5 Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary Griffiths says the men were among four who engaged a police team during a targeted early morning operation in Zambia, Central Village leading to a shoot-out.
