Fayval: CPFSA Boss Maintained Ties With Foundation Despite Directives

The Education Minister through her chronology to the parliament Tuesday revealed Carl Robankse’s embracing orphans foundation began in 2007 and its relationship with the Child Protection Agency began in 2009. A relationship that has now left her and many Jamaican stakeholders feeling deceived following damning allegations in a report tabled by the office of the children’s advocate, Tuesday.

She says several weekly virtual meetings later the Child Protective and Family Services (CPFSA) boss Rosa Lee Gage Grey reported to members that ties were severed and efforts were being made to at one point purchase the property where the girls reside. Months later Williams says the CPFSA boss reported they were receiving support from another entity, the Jamaica Relief Ministry.

The Minister went further stating the Office of the Children’s Advocate reported to her that given the high level from which the directives came, any interim manager must not be from the CPFSA ecosystem directly or indirectly. She said the ministry acted the next day selecting an interim manager for the facility. Williams insists despite unambiguous directives the deception from the CPFSA continued.
