Finance Minister Credits Prime Minister for Economic Climate

Dr. Nigel Clarke, Jamaica’s Minister of Finance, Attributes the Country’s Strong Economic Climate in the Past Five Decades to Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ Leadership. Speaking to Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters in St. Ann’s Bay on Sunday, Dr. Clarke pointed out that the unemployment rate has dropped to 4.5%, a significant decrease from the 10% level during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He highlighted this as the lowest rate in Jamaica’s history and mentioned that 150,000 people were reemployed. Additionally, Dr. Clarke noted an increase in the Gross Domestic Product.
