Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke Elected IDB Board Chair

Dr Nigel Clarke was elected on Monday, March 28, to Chair the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) for the period 2022/23.

Forty- eight member countries of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will discuss challenges and opportunities for driving inclusive and sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Gender equity, climate change action, and private sector innovative solutions are the areas of focus for the IDB’s board in their annual meeting launched Monday.

Dr Clarke succeeds Colombia’s Finance Minister and IDB Country Governor, José Manuel Restrepo, who served for the previous administrative year – 2021/22.
