Fire engulfed a church in Trelawny in the wee hours of the morning, resulting in estimated millions in losses. However the incident has left residents calling for operational fire hydrants and quicker response to emergencies. The Faith International Harvest Church was in flames Thursday morning. Senior Pastor for the church Bishop Delton Collins says he was summoned at around 3 am. He tells our news team initial estimates put the damage in the millions. He says the fire started from the front of the structure which then spread to the neighboring building.
Pastor Collins highlighted there was an attempt to burn down another church branch; he however remains resilient in his faith. Meanwhile residents are complaining about what they describe as the lack of urgency on the part of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, they are also calling for functional hydrants.
