Last night marked a catastrophic moment for several persons on St. Joseph Road, Kingston 13. This is after seven persons lost their home in a fire that was allegedly started by a 3 year old, minutes before midnight on Tuesday. Among those in despair is a family of four who tells CVM LIVE they have lost everything.
“The child mussi a play with a lighter or matches, and light him bed… after that him run to the bed where him mother was sleeping and leave him little brother in the other bed that was light…” Michael Payne, the father of the three year old, told our news team.
Cassandra Francis, the mother of the child, explains that by this time, the bed was engulfed in flames.
However, she says despite difficulties she managed to save her 1 year old child.
Payne says it will be a hard road to recovery, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic and he is asking the public to assist.
