There is still little information about the source of a fire early Sunday morning that ravaged sections of the new forum fishing village in Portmore, St Catherine. The blaze sent many scurrying to prevent further damage but was only brought under control when firefighters arrived.
Reports are that around 2 am, persons sleeping on the compound were alerted to the fire. Despite their best efforts to extinguish the blaze, the fire raged on until two fire units responded.
