First Batch of AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccines Arrive in Jamaica
The government of India has made good on its commitment to delivering 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Jamaica. The vaccines arrived on the island earlier today at the general aviation center at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston. Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, and other officials were present to receive the vaccines.
The shipment of 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been made possible, courtesy of the government of India.
Inoculation will begin on wednesday, march 10.
Speaking to our news team, Prime Minister Andrew Holness gave the assurance that vaccines will be distributed accordingly.
