After several months in darkness, Rae Town residents have grown frustrated with the Jamaica Public Service, (JPS) in the plea for light. Their need is being highlighted as they insist several crimes have been committed in the space making it harder for them to sustain lives and livelihoods.
The people of Rae Town fishing village by the Kingston Harbor, made their plea to JPS after claiming they have been without street lights for over four months. Residents say the light is crucial for fishermen to work at nights.
Meanwhile, another resident says he has been without electricity for more than a decade. Despite their appeal, the people of Rae Town say their cries have not been heard after being promised by the JPS that the street lights would be functional soon.
