Major changes are coming for licensed firearm holders and applicants this year. The CEO of the Firearms Licensing Authority (FLA) says applicants will soon have to sit a written test, as part of the process to acquire a firearm license.
The changes were announced during reactions to Tuesday’s shootout in St James between two licensed firearm holders. After the near cinematic display of guns and what eyewitnesses describe as ego in Sam Square Tuesday, the firearm licensing authority boss says an investigation has been launched.
He cautioned licensed firearm holders against exercising unnecessary force in circumstances. He says this bolsters the push to limit firearm access. However, he notes major changes are afoot. Watch the report below:
