Residents of Flankers, Montego Bay are elated, after the Government of Jamaica and the Universal Service Fund installed free internet services throughout the area.
The initiative will benefit schools as well as online businesses. At a time when the demand for technology is at its highest, the Flanker community has been granted free internet services. The Universal Service Fund launched the initiative to the community in an attempt to improve the quality of business and education in the area.
Residents and school leaders in the community, that has in excess of 8000 persons, are elated, as they express their gratitude for the government’s contributions. Principal of Flanker Primary and Junior High School, Collette Barnes says this initiative completes the efforts that were made to provide proper technology to the students in the community. Councillor for Montego Bay North East Division, Charles Sinclair says he’s thankful for the universal service fund’s commitment to the project.
He says the services are being paid for by the Government of Jamaica, and the residents are now free to use the internet and all its benefits.
