Residents in one South Central St. Catherine community are deeply concerned as it relates to flooding. This concern has even been more worrying amid the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane season.
It was an uphill battle for the residents of the Hill Run Community in South Central St. Catherine dealing with flood waters following rains in recent weeks. The residents say this drain has always been a problem when it overflows, resulting in major flooding that restricts their movement. Our news team had to drive through the housing schemes as most areas were underwater and some sections were impassable.
Chairman of the constituency for the Peoples National Party, PNP, Kurt Matthews says he and other representatives toured the community on Monday. He notes based on the assessment done, the issue is not too challenging to resolve. He notes support was given by corporate bodies and work was done at the top section of the community. This Matthews indicates, was not enough as the drains need to be properly leveled. He laments the flooding has been a massive inconvenience for residents. Watch the report:
