Former Petrojam GM, Floyd Grindley Charged By M.O.C.A

Another former senior executive at Petrojam has been arrested and charged by the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency, MOCA on Tuesday, March 16. Former General Manager at the government-owned oil refinery, Floyd Grindley, will face the court Wednesday to answer his charges.

MOCA says the former Petrojam general manager, Floyd Grindley aided and abetted.

Former Petrojam Chairman Dr. Pereceval Bahado-Singh and the process he allegedly used to fraudulently claim several reimbursements at Petrojam.

According to MOCA says the monies in question are from December 2016 and may 2018 amounting to 73, 620 USD.

It’s reportedly related to trips that Dr. Bahado  Singh should’ve attended in his capacity as chairman but records show he did not go.

However, in a damning report from the auditor general in 2018, the then chairman was reimbursed by Petrojam for plane tickets he bought for business meetings.

At the time, senior employees at Petrojam during their appearance before parliament’s public administration & appropriations committee say they were told by Grindley to make the payments.

CVM Live spoke with one of the lawyers representing Floyd Grindley, Bianca Samuels who explained that her client actually turned himself in to the police following news of the former chairman’s charges.

Meanwhile lawyer representing Dr. Perceval Bahado Singh, Bert Samuels says his client had repaid the money to the petroleum corporation of Jamaica back in 2019. The amount repaid remains unknown.

Both the former chairman Dr. Perceval Bahado Singh and former general manager, Floyd  Grindley are to appear in court on Wednesday, March 17.
