Four Shot, One Fatally In Trench Town, West Kingston

Four people were shot in Trench Town, in West Kingston on Wednesday night by gunmen sometime after  9.

Forty-four year old Trace Newland, one of the victims  later died at hospital.

Senior Communications Strategist in the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Dennis brooks,  says a  teen is among the three people now ongoing treatment for gunshot wounds in the hospital. 

According to the Denham Town Police,  the victims were at an illegal gathering on First Street, Kingston 12, when they were attacked by armed men.

When CVM Live visited the community on Thursday there was a  strong security presence. 

A resident who says she was at a party at the time of the incident is calling for the flare up in violence to stop.

The police say persons who witnessed the incident should come forward to assist in their investigation.

Since the start of the year 19 people have been murdered, one less than the same period last year.
