Another child, a four year old boy from Windward Road, Kingston died on Thursday, after his teacher allegedly left him in a vehicle while transporting 4 students to the Destowe Bennet Basic School in Rollington Town, Kingston.
CVM Live spoke with Superintendent of Police, Tommie-Lee Chambers who says the teacher exited the vehicle with the belief that all four students were present. Loved ones and students at Destowe Bennett Basic School are mourning the death of a 4 year old student who was allegedly left in his teacher’s vehicle on Thursday.
CVM Live understands the teacher drove 4 students to school that morning where little Jordane Clarke was left behind in the car. By the time it was realized, it was a little too late. Jordane was found in the vehicle unconscious. Head of the Kingston Eastern Police Division, Superintendent Tommie-Lee Chambers says he was taken to the Bustamante Hospital for Children where he was pronounced dead.
Superintendent Chambers says the necessary counseling session has commenced involving all parties affected by the tragedy. This is the second such tragedy in recent weeks. The first case in the year occurred on January 17, when a one year old child from St. Elizabeth was left in her father’s car while he worked.
