Just over two weeks ago four Klansman gang trial defendants were acquitted of their charges. Sent home into the hands of their overjoyed families, one can assume the men are happy to be home. In 2019 Ormsby was arrested in Spanish Town. As he tells it, police contacted his sister under the premise that they wanted to “talk”. He moved through four lockups, each coming with their own experiences.
He says very little care was put into their nutrition, prisoners being fed barely cooked chicken with feathers and fish with scales still on them. While in lock-up his father and step-daughter died, dealing deadly blows to his failing will.
Now residing in Kingston, he says he feels safer in a Garrison than at the mercy of the justice system. Ormsby says he’s working on himself, hoping to reintegrate into a world that has changed so much in nearly 3 years. He was found not guilty on four counts- being part of a criminal organization, two counts of conspiracy to murder, and murder.
