One man is dead, and four others were injured following a dispute in the East Kingston community of Rockfort. The East Kingston police say, one of the men allegedly involved in the dispute left but returned with a firearm and opened fire killing the other man.
From friends to foes, residents of the Rockfort Community in East Kingston are in shock as one man is dead following an attack. According to residents, the attack happened early on the afternoon of Sunday, October 3; where a group of men were out in the community.
CVM Live understands a conflict developed between two men. One of the men left, only to return armed with a firearm; he allegedly fired several shots injuring four people. A relative of one of those injured in the incident told CVM Live, she said they were told that the bullet was lodged in his leg, however he could not be treated until he was seen by the doctor who was working the morning shift. .
In the meantime, Superintendent Tommie Lee-Chambers of the East Kingston division says while tensions are high, the situations are not out of control. Superintendent Chambers notes the police have also increased their presence in the community. Three of the four injured persons were released from the Kingston Public Hospital, (KPH) leaving one person still undergoing treatment.
