Despite geopolitical and domestic threats to lives and livelihoods, the Executive Director of the Financial Services Division (FSC) says there is still a low level of insurance saturation among Jamaicans.

He was speaking at the recently concluded, international conference on inclusive insurance in Kingston. Only a small percentage of the local population has life insurance and an even smaller percentage has health insurance. This, despite having to contend with the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic and myriad emerging viruses and deadly diseases.

Another cause for concern given the growing rate of fatalities and motor vehicle crashes annually. The Executive Director of the Financial Services Division told stakeholders at the international conference on inclusive insurance, only 35 per cent of the workforce have individual life insurance.
