Gang Feud Intensifies in Olympic Gardens

Gang violence has intensified in Balmagie, Olympic Gardens in St Andrew, resulting in another act of arson on Wednesday. The St Andrew South Police confirm there is an ongoing investigation and heightened police presence with the growing tension.

The streets bear evidence of the tension that prevails, with hardly any residents in sight. Residents share that they’re now living on the edge, being fearful of reprisal in the gritty community.

Zone 2 Commander for the St Andrew South Division, DSP Stacey Ann Powell, says the ongoing gang feud within the area has resulted in one person being murdered thus far and multiple shooting incidents. Meanwhile, she is reassuring residents the police are resolute in ridding the area of gangsters and violent crimes.

DSP Powell adds their operational efforts have yielded results within the space. Watch the report below:
