Glen Bromfield & JCSA Grants 8 Secondary Students Scholarships

Eight secondary students recently received scholarships totaling one million dollars, courtesy of the Glen Bromfield Jamaica Civil Service Association Education Trust.

The scholarship trust was established to provide financial assistance for children in first to sixth form who are excelling but in need of financial assistance.

Eight students from across the island were selected this year and will receive scholarships annually; one at a hundred thousand dollars, three at fifty thousand and four at forty thousand dollars.

President of the Jamaica Civil Service Association (JCSA) O’neil Grant highlights the fact that Education is the way to bridge the gap of poverty in society.

The bursary will assist with the paying of school fees, purchasing of uniforms and any other educational supplies for school.

The awardees must display good conduct and demonstrate good discipline as well as maintaining an eighty percent grade average.

As the trustee of the education trust fund the administrator general’s department, oversees all grants disbursed.

Since the inception of the trust a total of forty-five scholarships have been granted in addition to nine bursaries.
