Jamaicans are set to receive a 20 percent discount on their JPS Bill for up to 200-kilowatt hours of electricity. This falls within the range of usage for most Jamaican households and forms part of the government’s assistance to cushion the blows from rising oil and fuel costs.
Dr Clarke says majority of the households consuming less than a hundred and fifty-kilowatt hours per month, are those on small incomes in society. Meanwhile, the Finance Minister says 81-percent of the population will benefit from this temporary government initiative.
