With the new school term slated to commence on Monday, September 6, students at Golden Grove All-Age School, were acknowledged via scholarships for their outstanding performance in the 2021 sitting of the Primary Exit Profile, (PEP) examinations. This also comes as a financial boost to parents as it has been challenging since the onset of the pandemic.
The students at the Golden Grove All-Age school, in St. Ann, were given hope and motivation through scholarships to help remain determined amid the digital divide. The Lydford Mining Group sought to provide support in a bid to ease the financial strain on parents especially ahead of the new school term.
The Lydford Company has been a major stakeholder in the Golden Grove area for over 25 years. Director of Finance at the mining group Jackie Millington says she is elated at being a part of improving the lives of the students. She also noted that the company is proud to offer assistance also to their employees children as their employees are hard workers.
Meanwhile, the recipients expressed their gratitude to the company and also stated they were proud of their hard work and were confident that they could achieve their goals.
