The People’s National Party’s (PNP) President Mark Golding is again championing the cause to decriminalize marijuana and remove the need for guarantors to access student loans; this as he rallied hundreds of supporters at the 84th Annual Conference at the National Arena. The COVID-19 pandemic rocked the events for years due to gathering limits.
Party President Mark Golding outlined visions he says will be fulfilled once the party is chosen as the next government. Golding says the PNP will help the economy to recover from the recession caused by the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He is committing to generate more revenue to resume debt reduction.
As education remains a priority to the party, Golding outlines plans for a more developed country, by improving the state of education at all levels. He further notes the intention to eliminate the requirement of a guarantor for student loan access.
Meanwhile, the Party President says there are plans to include farmers in their bid to push for the decriminalization of marijuana. Golding says the party will legislate a comprehensive, and lawful ganja-based economy for all citizens, including the Rastafarians and the maroons.
