People’s National Party, PNP, President Mark Golding is urging patience in relation to the outcome of Sunday’s election for the South East St Ann candidate in the next general elections. Speaking with CVM LIVE on Monday, the Party Leader says there is a process to be followed when candidates do not reach the 50 per cent threshold during an internal election.
Sunday’s battle for the PNP candidacy in South East St Ann ended with all three contenders, coming up short of the party’s required 50 per cent vote to secure the spot. Those in contention include PNP Women’s Movement President, Patricia Duncan Sutherland, former West Indies cricketer Wavell Hinds and Political Neophyte and Educator, Dr Kenneth Russell. Of the 778 delegates who voted, Dr Russell secured the most 358 still fewer than the needed 389, while Hinds bagged 245, and Duncan Sutherland, 171. Golding commended the trio but notes due process will require some patience. Watch the report:
