Both presidential aspirants of the People’s National Party are on the campaign trail and have been preaching unity to the delegates who will on November 7, elect a leader.
Golding appears to be more visible on the campaign trail as his social media platforms are buzzing with daily engagement.
He spoke to delegates recently in South West St. Andrew, where he says he plans on establishing a fund to assist members of the Party.
“That fund is going to be there to be invested and income from the investments is going to look after our party workers who have served long and hard and who face bad living conditions and other problems in their life because when mi see some of our party workers and how them live it no look right to me,” Golding said.
Golding, who is the Member of Parliament for St. Andrew Southern, also had a message for his critics.
“Me no really watch the popularity thing, cause me just a come in a the popularity race and me know say my thing ago go up and me no worry bout hype because my charisma is just being me and being real and caring bout people and fighting for the right of the people. A that a my charisma.”
Meanwhile Lisa Hannah’s “Bring Back Di Love” team was in St. James.
Member of Parliament for St. Catherine North Central, Natalie Neita Headley endorsed Hanna by saying, “Lisa Hanna, we are with you, we’re going to support you, we’re going to hold you up. We’re going to build you up because you will be the next Prime Minister and Party leader.”
The nomination period will get underway on Monday, October 19 through to Friday, October 23.
All nominated candidates will be subject to interviews from the Integrity Commission.
