Local Government Minister, Desmond Mckenzie, along with other government representatives toured some communities in the St Catherine, North Central Constituency on Thursday, to come up with solutions for the improper infrastructure. Mckenzie says residents of the community have been challenged for decades and this visit will seek to correct the matter.
The Local Government Minister assures that this visit will be fruitful, and residents’ cries will not fall on deaf ears. However, he adds the situation will not be resolved overnight.
Member of Parliament for North Central St Catherine, Natalie Neita Garvey, says she hopes to see the partnership with the Local Government and the NWA yield some form of result.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Spanish Town, Norman Scott, says some of these schemes were built in the 60s with only roads to traverse and no other form of infrastructure. More details in the report:
