Government Urged to Be Careful with Mandatory Vaccine

GOVTS in the region urged to be careful with mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine – Across the region, several CARICOM nations are eying legislative amendments to allow for mandatory vaccination against COVID-19.

In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, mass protests were sparked by the government’s plan, to revise the Public Health Bill that would require certain categories of public sector employees to be vaccinated in order to work in “front-line” jobs.

In a recent protest, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonzalves received a head injury and was treated and released from the hospital.

Over in Barbados, thousands of people marched against what they call the “forced vaccination mandate,” a violation, they say of their rights.

And Guyana’s government is to make a decision on the matter of mandatory COVID-19 vaccination in due course.

Protests have also spread to Antigua and Barbuda.
