With very little time left before the proposed temporary closure of JISCO- Alpart In Nain St. Elizabeth for up to more than a year, to facilitate modernization, the General Secretary for one of the unions representing the workers says the redundancy exercise is not genuine.
In support of his sentiments is social and political commentator Dickie Crawford.
While the General Secretary is concerned about roughly 850 workers to be laid off, he remains optimistic about the future of the Alpart plant.
On the other hand, Dickie Crawford doesn’t feel the same way.
