There is growing unease in Manchester as the parish continues to grapple with rising criminal activities. The spate of robberies and murders, which is threatening to cripple normal life, has led to a call by officials, for stringent action and a coming together to end the scourge.
Custos of Manchester Garfield Green laments the fear and terror bleeding through the parish’s streets, he says it will take a unified effort to remove the criminals from the space.
Additionally, more can be done to extend the sentences of repeat offenders. Addressing the migration of criminals into the parish, a pleading green begged residents who are harboring criminals to desist from the act.
But President of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Simone Spence Johnson says the migration of these criminals can be stopped at the borders, once there is effective control of who enters and exits the space.
