The St Catherine South police seized an M-16 rifle and several rounds of ammunition today, following the fatal shooting of a man in Central Village on Sunday.
The death of an unidentified man yesterday in 9-11 Lane, Central Village during a confrontation with the police has led to the discovery of an M-16 rifle and 10, five-point 56 rounds in the area Monday. This is after the deceased allegedly killed another man and was making good his escape Sunday.
Senior Superintendent of Police Christopher Phillips says there is tension in the space between warring factions which began over beautification work. He says this is the second time in weeks that the police have intercepted criminals in the division. Watch the full report:
