Police in Mandeville accosted a woman Tuesday after a millennium nine-millimeter pistol was found in her bosom. The police intercepted a vehicle and conducted a search which resulted in the seizure.
Acting on information the Mandeville police conducted the operation in the town which led to the arrest of four people, three men, and a woman. Head of Operations for the Manchester Police Division Deputy Superintendent Anthony Lewis says about 11:20 in the morning the police got further information which led to the interception of a Honda fit motor vehicle with four occupants who they searched.
Superintendent Lewis says in recent times Manchester has seen an upsurge in robberies. Statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) website indicate that the parish, since the start of the year up to April 9, has seen a total of 42 robbery-related incidents.
This compared to 29 for the corresponding period in 2021. Watch the full report below:
