Following a police operation in Clarendon, one of two gunmen is dead having challenged the police. Both men have been wanted for several crimes committed in the parish. During an operation carried out by the Clarendon police over the weekend in the Denbigh Area, police say they were challenged by two gunmen and returned fire.
It is understood the men were wanted for possession of illegal firearms. Both men were shot during the exchange. Head of the Clarendon Police Superintendent Carlos Russell says one of the men succumbed to his injuries. He adds to date only one of the firearms was recovered by the police. Both men have been on the police’s wanted list for quite some, in relation to several crimes committed in the Denbigh area.
Superintendent Russell notes since the incident over the weekend the community is breathing a sigh of relief. He also provided an update regarding a taxi operator that was shot and killed in the town of May Pen on Monday. Watch the report:
