Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaica is prepared to help Haiti, as the country has been going through political unrest. The Prime Minister in his address to Parliament says Jamaica and Haiti share an amicable relationship and he will assist in all possible ways.
The Prime Minister says our security forces are being prepped if deployment should be considered. Mr Holness says he is also prepared to host the neighboring leaders, should they have a need to meet with civil society actors to negotiate on matters concerning the country’s current state. While there is ongoing internal deliberation, he maintains his commitment to collaborating with Caribbean Community and other bilateral partners to help Haiti overcome its current crisis.
