The government has not given up on the Harmony Cove Development in Trelawny. The project is predicted to boost job creation and foreign exchange. Speaking in Tuesday’s Sectoral Debate, Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke says despite the slow pace of construction, all parties involved in the development plan are participating.
Dr Clarke says the shareholders of Harmonization Limited, namely the Development Bank of Jamaica and the National Housing Trust (NHT) intend to provide up to 25 million US dollars to the entity to continue work on the Harmony Cove Tourism Project. He says all parties involved have been fulfilling their obligations under the agreement that was made when the constructions initially began.
Harmony Cove is expected to create a major economic surge on the north coast through direct and indirect job creation. It will also add a boost in foreign exchange inflows. Minister Clarke says the government’s prepared to grant approval to the development; he also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the project, despite the challenges.
The Harmony Cove Development is expected to include several world-class golf courses, a luxury spa, marina facilities, commercial developments, luxury hotels, private residencies, and other amenities. More details in the report below:
