The Health Ministry has donated 5,000 home self-test kits to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. The donation comes as Jamaica’s children head back to the face-face classroom this month.
5 thousand home test kits, which have been donated to the Education Ministry, are set to be distributed to primary schools according to Education Minister Fayval Williams.
Speaking at the handover on Thursday, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton says sending children to school is another step in building resilience against COVID -19.
Dr. Tufton pointed out that the health ministry will provide a protocol to school administrators in the use of the test kits, with provisions in place for further assessments.
Minister Williams emphasizes that these kits are an added layer to the many protocols in place to fight COVID -19, acknowledging vaccination to be paramount among them.
