The first hearing in Prime Minister Andrew Holness’ legal challenge against the Integrity Commission, IC, is set for today (November 7, 2024) in the Supreme Court. This case stems from a 171-page report released by the IC on September 17, 2024, examining Holness’s financial affairs and questioning his compliance with statutory declarations. Holness seeks judicial review of the IC’s findings, claiming the report unfairly suggests unethical conduct. His goal is to nullify the report, halt further investigations, and challenge sections of both the Integrity Commission Act and the Corruption Prevention Act related to illicit enrichment. His legal team, led by King’s Counsel Georgia Gibson-Henlin, has outlined approximately 30 points for judicial review.
The Integrity Commission, represented by King’s Counsel Michael Hylton, includes respondents Craig Beresford, Director of Information and Complaints, and Kevon Stephenson, Director of Investigations.
