Vehicles removed from the Streets: Illegal roadside garages, abandoned vehicles and cars parked for sale on sidewalks are a common sight across the corporate area.
Over the past six weeks a team from the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has been clamping down on persons who leave vehicles on public sidewalks throughout the town.
Municipal Police Commandant at the KSAMC, Duane Anderson says hundreds of vehicles have already been impounded.
The Commandant says stolen vehicles are even being hidden in plain sight.
He explains that the illegal practice has caused public nuisance and health risks.
He says the Municipality will be targeting other areas known to be commonly used by persons who exploit public spaces for profit.
The Municipal Corporation is urging persons to make a report if they are aware of other areas where common spaces are being abused.
