Husband and Wife Murdered in Portmore, Son in Custody

A husband and wife were found dead in their home in an apparent homicide in Christian Meadows, Portmore. The couple was found with stab wounds to their body. Their son who is the main suspect has been taken into police custody.

55-year-old Cecil Ramsay, a Minister of Religion and his Wife 55-Year-Old Phyllis Ramsay, a vice principal were found dead in their home on Antaris Avenue, on Friday morning. The tragic scene was discovered about 4:00 a.m., when police responded to a call from residents who reportedly found Mrs. Ramsay’s motor vehicle abandoned in the community.

The police, upon searching the motor vehicle, saw blood inside. They then made checks at Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay’s home; where the bodies were discovered with stab wounds. They were pronounced dead at hospital. Officer in charge of crime for area five, Superintendent Rory Martin, says the main suspect, the couple’s son has since been taken into custody. Community members described the couple as good and upstanding citizens. The residents say it was evident that something was wrong with Ramsay’s son. Our news team observed the police and a pastor engaging relatives and community members in a grief counseling session.
