Identifying Techniques To Strengthen Local Education System

Jamaica’s Education Ministry is focused on the development of every child in the country – that’s the word from the Minister with Responsibility for Education, Karl Samuda as he called for educators to apply different teaching techniques to meet the needs of students.

For years, the slogan of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information has remained as ‘every child can learn, every child must learn’ as it pushes forward in ensuring that every child has access to educational opportunities.

Acting Minister Karl Samuda believes that educators play a significant role in making this happen as they develop ways to pass on critical skills to students in the classroom. The vision statement of the education ministry is focused on empowering the nation through a dynamic system of care, education, and training.

This statement is backed by 16 strategic objectives. Two o[f which focuses on maximizing the percentage of children who have access to high-quality education and access to opportunities for continuing education and training.

The minister was speaking at the Jamaica Teaching Council Region 1 meeting at the Jamaica Conference Centre.
