An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding a missing vial of the oxford AstraZeneca vaccines deployed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James. The Regional Director in the Western Health Region, Errol Greene told our news centre they’ll not be speculating whether the vial containing ten doses of the vaccine was stolen or misplaced.
Just over a week since the country received its first batch of the oxford AstraZeneca vaccines, the Cornwall Regional Hospital is in the spotlight after one of the much sought-after vials of the vaccine was reported missing.
Errol Green is the Regional Director of the Western Health Regional Authority, the WRHA. He says an investigation is underway into the missing vial. Mr Greene says the authorities will stop at nothing to ensure the vial is accounted for.
He is also dismissing speculation as to whether the vial was stolen or misplaced. Mr. Greene says it’s still unclear how the vial disappeared.
