Detectives assigned to the Major Investigations Division are probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of two men in the Golden Heights community of West Kingston, Tuesday. Dead are 66-year-old Lawson Henry and 52-year-old Alva Downy, otherwise called ‘Tracy’.
CVM LIVE understands that at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Henry was in a gully in the area when he was pounced upon by unknown assailants who opened gunfire hitting him. The gunmen then fired several shots in the golden heights housing scheme where Downy was hit in the upper body. The police were summoned and both men were transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The Hannah Town community in West Kingston is currently under the Zone of Special Operations in Denham Town as residents protested this and other shooting instances, head of the West Kingston Police Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps says investigations into the murders have commenced.
Additionally, the victims are not known violence producers. Watch the report:
